Based in Vancouver BC, Tony Chiang combines a freedom of expression with a liberal use of colours while adhering to the accuracy of the human form. The result is a striking combination evoking both human connection and authenticity. Each work tugs at a gut level, and touches on the universality of human emotion.
The foundation of is his style lies in working quickly with a random and loose and use of palette knives and brushwork. This is followed by attention to the accuracy of form through which the honesty of pure emotion is conveyed. The end result are striking portraits which are “unapologetically present”.
